As the lead lighting designer and project manager, I developed the lighting for the latest upgrade of existing amenities at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 of Melbourne Airport, in collaboration with Peddle Thorp Architects.

The newly enhanced facilities feature a warm and inviting materials palette, integrated indoor plants, and bespoke lighting solutions, including feature lighting for mirrors and vanities. The design also incorporates sensor-operated hand wash systems and integrated scenting systems, all thoughtfully implemented to elevate the traveler experience.

In line with Melbourne Airport’s commitment to inclusivity, the upgrades include Changing Place Facilities and All Gender toilets, ensuring accessibility and comfort for all visitors. The comprehensive lighting strategy was integral to creating a welcoming and modern atmosphere that aligns with the airport’s dedication to enhancing passenger satisfaction.
